The brushes are produced from plant fibers and hemp thread in Rosa’s garden workshop in Carmarthen, Wales. Rosa employs entirely natural, sustainably sourced resources: tampico and arenga plant fibers for the bristles, and hemp thread and cotton handles to tie it all together. “Tampico arrives from Mexico,” Rosa explains. “The fibers are created from the leaves, which seem a bit like Aloe Vera. A new leaf grows from the place the old one was snapped off. Arenga arrives from the Arenga Pinnata palm tree, which grows in Indonesia. Yet again, the fiber is developed from the leaf. The hemp twine is created in Jap Europe and is grown organically, ethically sourced, and dyed working with environmentally helpful dyes.
