Contemplating its antique lighting, art-deco glass, and refined pink countertops, this freshly transformed grasp toilet might make you experience as if you have stepped into a glamorous Parisian desire. But believe that it or not, this suite overlooks the Mississippi—not the Seine.
Prior to calling Liz Schupanitz of Liz Schupanitz Models, the householders dealt with maintenance challenges and understood the bathroom’s 1950s structure was in require of a refresh. The room’s lively pink walls and clunky cabinets weren’t undertaking the space any favors.
With a designer on board, the customers committed to a total renovation. The intention? Make the new bathtub comfortable, feminine, and reminiscent of the couple’s honeymoon suite in Paris. Channeling their recollections and cherished moments, Schupanitz established the best environment for enjoyable in the bathtub by candlelight or sitting at the mirror with a makeup brush.
Nevertheless, the bathroom’s minimal sq. footage needed her to recreate the glimpse of a Parisian penthouse without having relocating the tub, shower, and bathroom. “It was a funky rest room to perform with,” Schupanitz remembers. “A curved vainness aided expand the area with no making a large cabinet, which was both a style and spatial alternative.”
Nearby, a linen cupboard gives a versatile location to house a laundry chute and vanity—one superbly outfitted with ample counterspace and a substantial mirror. “I tried generating [the vanity] component of the sink cabinet, but there wasn’t sufficient room,” she provides. “I held stressing it would look silly hanging off the linen closet, but that and the sink cabinet are my favourite.”
A lot of this aesthetic is owed to the design’s ornate but refined finishes and resources. The pink countertops—comprised of an Italian Rosa Portogallo stone imported from New York—were a rare discover and took time to track down. White and gray marble in the shower enhances the rosy, intricate tilework, whilst the simplicity of typical white cabinetry visually juxtaposes detailed light fixtures. Schupanitz’s new design not only preserved the bathroom’s pink spirit but also gave it a substantially-desired glow-up.
In return, the home owners acquired far more than just a wonderful lavatory in which they can unwind and chill out. Now, they are reminded of their fond French reminiscences in a space which is très magnifique.
