Apartment Updates: Bowood Headboard and Sarah K Designs Bedding

Matters are definitely beginning to select up steam in the apartment! I’m constantly sharing genuine-time updates on Instagram but I needed to submit some much more pictures of the new headboard right here mainly because I love it SO significantly. I’m so happy that Jen and I resolved on applying Bowood for this piece. To say it’s been transformed is an understatement. As you may perhaps try to remember, the headboard is the Pondicherry from Serena and Lily, in a gray linen that they available. I preferred it but was hardly ever about the moon about it, and after a couple years it unquestionably experienced a handful of stains and was in need to have of a makeover. I briefly regarded as finding a different headboard completely, or a bed (I truly desired a brass mattress!), but finally we made the decision that reupholstering this was the finest selection. I’m truly actually happy we were being able to reuse anything I presently experienced – and seeing it in this new material has made me realize how a great deal I in fact appreciate the form and strains of it. Like, Enjoy!

We made use of Jen’s upholsterer for this project, and I know I’m a terrible blogger simply because this would be substantially far more fascinating or enlightening for individuals if I had like, DIY’ed it! Or more thrilling if I’d located it secondhand or what have you. Alas, I am not a DIYer and I am not blessed enough (or client more than enough) to locate a piece like this secondhand! So we utilised a qualified and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It’s just gorgeous and severely would make the area. I have generally appreciated Bowood but I have to say, it is even more impactful and wonderful in man or woman. Also desired to note that I utilised Bowood Union, which is the model that is a blend of cotton, nylon and linen. Normal Bowood is 100% cotton and comes in a couple colorways. My colorway is green/grey. I chose this mainly because there are two neutral colorways of the 100% cotton Bowood – inexperienced/grey, or white/leaf (there are also blue and pink variations). The eco-friendly/gray experienced a very beige ground, and the white/leaf had a incredibly white floor. It was tough to determine mainly because I liked equally in distinct means – the beige ground had a fairly tea-colored, antique search, but the white/leaf was very clean wanting. Fortunately there was a fantastic resolution – Bowood Union in inexperienced/grey. It has a beige floor which is not AS beige as the other model – so it’s very seriously the ideal medium concerning the two. Bewildering, maybe! I felt it was vital to do my investigation and see all of the colour and fabric solutions just before choosing, so I’m glad I did that.

I also preferred to share how a great deal I like my Sarah K. Models bedding! I located it by means of (who else?) Louise Roe, and just had to have it – even even though figuring out United kingdom sizing was a little bit of a head-scratcher. I’ve normally just been fully enamored with ditsy florals so there was no question in my head that I wanted this duvet and pillow established. It is so quite and charming. The hues, the print, the ruffles…just great. I have a total dimensions mattress and I’m rather confident I received the United kingdom King dimension. It matches correctly and it is seriously soft and snug. (By the way, I really will need to swap the drum shades – I’m thinking of executing a pleated eco-friendly material!). It’s actually bizarre, I utilized to always obtain sleeping less than my quilt tremendous uncomfortable and it felt seriously incredibly hot and too weighty with a linen duvet deal with on it…but at any time since I switched to this just one, I have no difficulties and find it actually comfortable. Was it the duvet protect all this time that was the concern, not the quilt by itself?! I honestly never ever suspected! Bizarre.

I just just cannot believe that how a great deal I enjoy Bowood! It’s these types of a excellent combine of feeling sort of vintage and antique, but also contemporary and lively. There is practically nothing fusty or fussy about it. It is kind of a ideal fabric and I could possibly go in advance and do curtains in it as well, simply because it’s just so great.

Plenty more updates that I need to photograph and share – many thanks for adhering to!
